This ‘hail and ride’ bus route in the London Borough of Islington is, to our knowledge, unique in that it was designed by the people who use it - to help them get out and about. Focussing on the needs of older and disabled people – but open to all – Route 812 connects people with the key services, shops, doctors’ surgeries and day centres they identified as important to them.
The route, delivered in partnership with the London Borough of Islington, reaches areas that cannot be readily served by mainstream public transport. Surpluses from commercial contracts are used to ensure that this service really meets the needs of its users.
