About AccessBus
AccessBus is a flexible dial-a-ride local bus service in Leeds. It is open to all passengers but is aimed at people with mobility difficulties and/or disabilities and those who find unable conventional public transport difficult to use. We deliver the service in behalf of Leeds Metro and more information is available on their website here.
The buses are all low floor, easy access minibuses fitted with the most up-to-date safety equipment. Access Bus operates 7 days a week between 9am and 5pm.
How does it work?
AccessBus is a demand-responsive local bus service offering trips to local shops and facilities. We serve certain areas on set days, allocating places to customers to travel on the day when the bus is in their area.
Passengers wishing to travel must register with Metro’s booking service, who will advise on the availability of the service in their area. If a space is free, passengers may reserve their place on that trip on an ongoing basis.
AccessBus is a very popular service and many journeys may be fully subscribed.
How much does it cost?
A flat fare of £3 per journey applies to travel on AccessBus. Passengers over 60 and disabled people holding English National Concessionary Fare passes travel free of charge.
