HCT Group is arguably the UK's leading transport social enterprise. Our contract services in London are operated by our main trading arm - HCT Group Operations - formerly known as CT Plus. The idea behind the trading arm is to create a platform for the Group as a whole to compete for contracts in the markeplace. The model is classic social enterprise - earn money through a trading arm by providing an outstanding contract service and then reinvest the money made into community transport projects or services that have a real social impact. CT Plus rebranded as HCT Group in 2019, allowing us to provide all our services in London under the main group banner.
What we do
In London, HCT Group has grown both the type and number of the services that it provides:
London red bus services: We now provide seventeen of London’s iconic red bus routes from our depots at Ash Grove and Walthamstow Avenue. Find out more here.
Special Educational Needs (SEN) transport: We help children and young people with SEN travel safely to and from school in the London boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Wandsworth, Waltham Forest, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster. Find out more here.

We’re focussed on customers: As a social enterprise, the passengers on our specialist transport are the reason we exist – we have both expertise in specialist transport and a deep empathy with our passengers. This attitude informs how we work with all passengers on all services – it’s no surprise that a HCT Group driver has won the TfL prize for customer service in five of the last seven years, despite us being one of the smaller TfL operators.
We work in partnership: As a social enterprise HCT Group shares the values of those Authorities and organisations that commission transport services – better outcomes for people and communities. This means we can create genuine partnerships with the organisations we work with.
