Amber Valley Community Transport started in 1986 originally as Ripley & District Community Transport.
The organisation was based in Cemetery Lane in Ripley from 1986 until November 2014 when we moved to our current premises on Derby Road Marehay, all administration is dealt with at the Derby Road Head Office.
In 2010 Amber Valley Community Transport merged with Chesterfield Community Transport and became Community Transport for Town & County ( CT4TC)
Sadly, in October 2017, Clowne Community Transport ceased trading but we were able to take over their contract work and regular group bookings, so a Community Transport service is still available in that area.
In April 2018 CT4TC became part of the HCT Group, a large social enterprise and community transport provider with a Head Office based in London and depots and bases over a large part of the country, ranging from Jersey and Guernsey to Manchester and London.
However, we are still run as a local organisation by a board of trustees and management.
It was decided in May 2018 that we would change our name to Derbyshire Community Transport, we are currently in the process of changing our leaflets and logos, so over the next few months the change will become more noticeable.
We operate a large fleet of passenger vehicles the majority of which are wheelchair accessible. All our drivers are MIDAS trained with enhanced level DBS status.
