Bristol Community Transport is seeking more individials to volunteer their services to drive our minibuses. The minibuses are used to provide a range of service for non-profit organisations in and around Bristol.

Volunteers receive appropriate training and expenses.

We provide transport for a range of day centres, lunch clubs for the elderly, etc in and around Bristol.  With a fleet of wheelchair accessible vehicles we’re ideally placed to provide this transport.  Minibus can either be provided on an as-and-when required basis, or a regular arrangement.

For not-for-profit organisations we can provide access to our pool of volunteer drivers.

We would welcome approaches from other organisations interested in using BCT services.  Please contact Philip Bird to discuss your requirements.

New Community Bus Service
from Hillside Court
to Morrisons, Fishponds

Every Friday

This services operates every Friday, and is supported by Bristol City Council.

The service operates from Hillside Court (directly outside the entrance) and goes direct to the Morrisons store at Fishponds.  We use an accessible minibus, and wheelchair users (and those with other mobility needs) are able to be accommodated.  Hillside Court / Housing 21 provide care staff to travel on the minibus where required (and subject to staff availability).

The service is FREE to tenants of Hillside Court.   The costs of providing the service are covered by either the Concessionary Bus Pass Scheme or by funding from St George Neighbourhood Partnership (Bristol City Council) for those that don’t qualify for a pass.  Family and friends etc visiting tenants on a Friday are also be able to use the service (subject to vehicle capacity limits).

The “WASP Bus” is operating every Friday for those living on the WASP Estate in St George.  The service operates from St George to Morrisons at Fishponds.  The service is being operated at the request of the WASP Estate Improvements Committee (the Committee supports the estate bordered by Whitehall Road and Avenue, Alder Drive, Sycamore Close and Plummers Hill).

The HUB Bus runs every Thursday.

Regular pick-up points include Dingle Court (Langford Road), Cross Hands (Bedminster Down), Teguila Road, Dangerfield Road, Fernstead Road.

Fare: £1.40 return, or free to Concessionary Bus Pass Holders.

The service operates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Mondays
The service concentrates on the retail area in Bedminster
Regular pick-up points include St Peter’s Rise, Headley Lane, Maytree Avenue and the
Gatehouse Centre.

Wednesdays
The service concentrates on Tesco’s in Brislington and also local health centres, but on the
first Wednesday of each month goes to Sainsbury’s at Ashton.
Regular pick-up points include St Peter’s Rise, Headley Lane, Maytree Avenue and the
Gatehouse Centre.

Fridays
Each Friday the service goes to Broadmead Shopping Centre, and operates alongside the
HUB service.
Regular pick-up points include St Peter’s Rise, Headley Lane, Maytree Avenue and the
Gatehouse Centre.

Fare: £1.10 return, or £1.40 return to Broadmead, or free to Concessionary Bus Pass
Holders.
