COVID 19 update: Route 812 suspended for the time being
Dear Route 812 passenger,
Alongside Islington Council, we have taken the difficult decision to suspend Route 812 from Tuesday 31 March 2020.
We are following the best advice available, which tells us that all people – particularly older and disabled people who are at greater risk from the virus – should remain at home wherever possible during the COVID. We think that suspending the service is the right thing to do to protect the people who regularly use it.
We can reassure you that, as soon as this crisis has passed, Route 812 will start up again.
In the meantime, if you have any questions about the suspension, please feel free to contact us on 020 7275 2414. If the suspension of Route 812 is likely to cause you difficulties, Islington Council has set up a helpline – ‘We are Islington’ on 020 7527 8222 and email@example.com – for people who are struggling with the coronavirus and the necessary measures to contain it.

About Route 812
Route 812 is your friendly local bus service in Islington, connecting people with nearby services and shops, their friends and family – or just helping people to get out and about.
It’s ideal for children, older people, disabled people, and parents with small children – but anyone can ride.
The service costs just £1 per trip – and Freedom Pass holders and children under 16 travel free. Oyster Cards, Travelcards and Saver Tickets are not accepted.
Route 812 runs between Bridport Place in Hoxton and Bath Street in Finsbury via Packington Street, the Sainsbury's supermarket in Islington, Percy Circus, Skinner Street (for Exmouth Market), The Peel on Northampton Road, Old Street (Golden Lane) and Dufferin Street. You can see the whole route map here.
The services run Monday to Friday (except public holidays), every 30 minutes from 9.30am. The last service leaves Bridport Place at 4.00pm. You can find the full timetable here. Follow @Hackney_CT for regular updates.
Not your usual bus…
Route 812 has some special features that make it really helpful:
Hail and ride: You don’t have to get to a bus stop, just get to the route – wave and the bus will stop.
Easily ‘get-on-and-off-able’: The buses are low floor and fully accessible. The friendly drivers won’t rush off until you’re settled comfortably – they’ll even help you board.
Green machines: The service uses new, low emission vehicles, doing our bit for air quality where you live.
