HCT Group launches 2015 Social Impact Report

HCT Group is a social enterprise, reinvesting the profits it makes from transport contracts back into high social impact transport services or projects in the communities we serve. We aim to make a real difference to people’s lives and what we’ve achieved each year is set out in our annual Social Impact Report.
The report was launched last night at an event at the Coin Street Conference Centre (a social enterprise) catered for by Café Sunlight (a social enterprise) including beer from Two Fingers (a social enterprise.). The event was attended by staff – including this year’s Social Enterprise Champions, social investors, commissioners and other stakeholders.
The report sets outs our achievements for the year. Not only has our commercial side performed very strongly, we’ve had a great year for social impact
- Over 400,000 passenger trips for disadvantaged individuals or community group members
- Our Learning Centre on track for another record year – with full academic year figures likely to reach 822 qualifications for people who are long-term unemployed
- 101 Young people with SEN now travelling independently through our travel training programme – and the increase in life chances that will bring
Behind each of these numbers is a story – of increased independence, of connections with the community, of new opportunities. And for the first time we have tried in this year’s report to capture this impact in a more rigorous way. The report moves beyond the counting of passenger trips and other outputs to explore the outcomes of the work we do through survey research and focus groups
